New Event

Paused - every event has its own volunteers, resources and feedback

Schedule › EventsThe events list by month, and one event opened across its four tabs.

Why it matters

What changes

The honest version of the before, and what it looks like once this is running.

Without Chapter
  • Employer contact details living in one person's inbox
  • Attendance recorded on a paper list and never typed up
  • Post-event feedback that never gets collected
  • No evidence trail once the hall is packed away
With Chapter
  • Every event with its date, venue, employers and year groups in one record
  • Employers signing themselves up through a link, with no account
  • Attendance captured on a register that writes benchmark evidence
  • Feedback collected from employers after the event, on their own link

How it works

Up and running in minutes

Three steps, in the order you'd actually do them.

Create and publish

Date, venue, employers and a register built from year groups, forms and named pupils. Publishing reaches pupils.

Let employers do their own admin

Volunteers sign up on a token link with no account, and get a feedback form after the event.

Take the register

Marking a pupil present is what writes their Benchmark 5 and 6 evidence - the register is the source of truth.

In detail

How it actually works

The mechanics behind the screenshot.

01

The event record is the evidence record

Overview, Volunteers, Resources and Feedback are the four tabs, and each one is doing evidence work. Publishing pushes the event into pupils' Chapter app; attendance comes back; the record closes itself.

  • Careers Fair, Assembly, Employer Visit, University Visit, Guidance Day or your own type
  • Draft, Published and Completed states - published events reach pupils
  • Register built from any mix of year groups, form groups and named pupils
  • Benchmarks detected from the event title and description, then confirmed by you

Employers do their own admin

Two public links carry the parts of an event that normally cost a careers lead a week of chasing. One lets employers volunteer for an event; the other collects their feedback afterwards. Neither needs an account, and both feed Benchmarks 5 and 6.

  • A volunteer sign-up form on its own link, opened and closed by you
  • An encounter feedback form sent after the event, pre-filled if already answered
  • Provider profiles linked from the event, so history accrues in the CRM
  • Post-event report showing attendance and which employers came

Questions

The things schools ask

No. Volunteer sign-up and post-event feedback both run on tokenised public links. Employers open a page, fill it in and are done.

On a register built from your chosen year groups, form groups and named pupils. Marking a pupil present is what writes their benchmark evidence, so the register is the source of truth.

Yes - events import from CSV, and the list also exports, so a year's programme can be moved in one go.

Nothing is visible to pupils until you publish. Drafts sit in the list so a term can be planned before any of it is announced.
