Why it matters
What changes
The honest version of the before, and what it looks like once this is running.
- Parents shaping post-16 decisions with no idea what school is teaching
- Contact details re-typed from the MIS into a mail merge
- A newsletter nobody opens standing in for engagement
- No evidence at all that families were involved
- Parent contacts synced from your MIS and invited in bulk
- Chapter Family - a parent app with their own child's picture
- Digests at the frequency each family chooses
- Engagement measured, not assumed
How it works
Up and running in minutes
Three steps, in the order you'd actually do them.
Sync contacts from your MIS
See what proportion of your roster has contacts on file, and how many can be invited right now.
Bulk-invite to Chapter Family
Parents get their own app showing their child's shortlist, documents and key dates.
Measure it, don't assume it
Invited, activated, conversations, guide reads and survey replies - with an eight-week trend.

How it actually works
The mechanics behind the screenshot.
Rollout is a number, not a hope
The rollout card states what proportion of your roster has a linked parent, how many pupils have MIS contacts on file, and how many can be invited right now. Then it invites them. Engagement is measured on five metrics, with an eight-week trend behind the conversation count.
- Sync contacts from Wonde, then bulk-invite in batches
- Invited, Activated, Conversations, Guide reads, Survey replies
- Parental responsibility and emergency-contact flags carried through
- Digest frequency per family: weekly, fortnightly or monthly

Parents get a job to do, not a bulletin
Chapter Family shows a parent what their child is considering, lets them save opportunities of their own, and lets them recommend one across. The child accepts or dismisses it. That exchange is the engagement - and it is far more useful than an open rate.
- See the child's shortlist - firm, insurance, additional
- Save courses and apprenticeships, then Recommend them across
- Read the child's personal statement and CV alongside school feedback
- A weekly conversation starter built from that child's actual week
Emma's careers week
Emma attended the Healthcare Careers Fair and spoke to three employers.
She completed the 'Routes into healthcare' lesson and saved two courses.
Her next guidance session is on 19 March.

Questions
The things schools ask
Sync contacts from your MIS and bulk-invite, or invite one parent at a time with their name, email, child and relationship. They receive an email to set up their account.
No. A parent account is linked to their own child only, and parental responsibility is recorded per link so the right adults get the right access.
Each family's link carries its own frequency - weekly, fortnightly or monthly - and digests can be turned off entirely per parent.
The digests are automated. The work that does exist is the rollout - getting contacts synced and invitations out - which is why that is the first card on the page.
