Why it matters
What changes
The honest version of the before, and what it looks like once this is running.
- A pupil's careers history scattered across three inboxes and a shared drive
- No way to answer 'who has had nothing this year?' before an inspection
- Disadvantage and NEET risk held in a separate spreadsheet
- Every new careers lead starting from zero context
- One roster with year, form, Chapter link status, Gatsby count and NEET risk
- Filters that surface exactly who has been missed
- SEND, PP, FSM and LAC flags pulled straight from the MIS
- A full activity trail per pupil, most of it logged without staff effort
How it works
Up and running in minutes
Three steps, in the order you'd actually do them.
Import your cohort
Sync from Wonde or bulk-upload a CSV - profiles, forms and disadvantage flags come with it.
Get pupils on the app
A linked pupil generates their own evidence trail, so the profile deepens without anyone logging anything.
Filter for who needs you
Year group, form, disadvantage category or NEET-risk tier - the pupils nobody has reached rise to the top.
In detail
How it actually works
The mechanics behind the screenshot.
Find the pupils nobody has reached
The roster filters on the things that decide who needs you: year group, form group, disadvantage category and NEET-risk tier. Sort by Gatsby evidence count and the pupils with nothing recorded rise to the top - which is the list you actually needed.
- Filter by year group, form group, disadvantaged status or NEET risk
- SEND, PP, FSM and LAC badges load from your MIS, not a side spreadsheet
- NEET risk shown as High / Medium / Low with the underlying score
- Select rows to export CSV, issue app codes or book a session
| Student | Year | Chapter | NEET Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emma Clarke | Y11 | Connected | Low |
| Marcus Williams | Y11 | Connected | High · 72 |
| Priya Patel | Y10 | Not linked | Medium · 48 |
| Jake Lee | Y10 | Connected | Low |
The profile writes itself once a pupil links the app
A linked pupil generates their own record. Quests, reflections, saved courses and app activity flow back into the Journey tab as Gatsby evidence, so the profile deepens without anyone logging anything. Getting pupils linked is the highest-leverage thing on the page - so the page says so.
- Journey - the full careers timeline, newest first
- Chapter - what the pupil has done in the student app
- Pathways - aspirations, shortlists and destination intent
- Action points from guidance sessions carried on the profile rail

Questions
The things schools ask
Sync from Wonde, or bulk-upload a CSV. Profiles are created automatically and stay in step with your MIS from then on.
A tiered indicator - High, Medium or Low with a numeric score - built from careers-readiness signals held in Chapter. It is a prompt for a conversation, not a label on a child, and it is only visible to staff with the right permission.
No, but it changes the economics. Unlinked pupils still hold everything staff record. Linked pupils generate their own evidence trail, which is where the staff-time saving comes from.
Yes. Select rows on the roster to issue Chapter app codes, export a CSV of the selection, or remove records.
